Adore Yourself

Kashvi Goel

Growing up with a body that wasn't ideal to the "typical body image" that society has for everyone, landed me in a situation where I accepted my body to be wrong and unfit. The pressure by society can be really difficult to handle and feel it is normal. To help you cope up with this pressure and improvement in self-acceptance, a body positivity campaign exists. Body positivity refers to the assertion that all people deserve to have a positive body image, regardless of how society and popular culture view ideal shape, size, and appearance. It aims to help people understand how popular media messages contribute to the relationship that people have with their bodies, including how they feel about food, exercise, clothing, health, identity, and self-care.

We should be thankful to our body as it keeps us alive and breathing every day. Achieving a

certain kind of body will not help you with self-love but loving your current self while maybe working on a better version of yourself will do. Celebrities like Lizzo and influencers like Sakshi Sindwani continue to spread the positive message and influencing many others to follow the path.

In a society that profits from your self-doubt, adoring yourself is a rebellious act.
